|
These are quotes from some place and were along with my notes from the workshop. They are worth reading. If you hold love too loosely it will fly away. if you hold it too tightly it will die. A person who needs the other the least, will always be in control of the relationship. The problem lies in how one party perceives (respects) the other. This is the bottom line. Do not use devices to hold a trapped partner in. A passive approach often leads to the dissolution of the relationship. Force a crisis that will bring the matter to a head so it can be treated. Your partner knows what bugs you, makes you laugh or cry. Change your tape.
On relationships... The root causes of divorce are not surface statements like we hear: She's gained weight. He's getting bald. She doesn't clean the house right. He drinks too much. She snores. These are all surface comments to cover up the loss respect for each other. Usually begins with one partner feeling trapped, and instead of facing the issue will withdraw and try to find a way out by running to some one else or a drug or a lawyer. Anger happens when the trapped one begans to fight. One person may panic and threaten suicide in an attempt to pull some one with them. Marriage is like a teter totter ..both persons need to balance and when one gets off balance the other falls unless they both agree to get off at the same time. The most vulneralbe person has the biggest need and could be out on the edge. |
