Connection's History
Our early history began back around 1997 or 98 when I was on T2T and decided to start a 5th grade listserv since I was teaching 5th grade at the time. As members joined they requested 6th grade and other areas that also teach 5th and 6th grade as well like LD, SPED, etc so we expanded the name to 5-6grade connection.
We actually began as an email ring of around 70 people and I had to go on the hunt when we had no more room for messages. Esosoft took us on first, and then said we were too big of a list for them to handle, but suggested Lisa who was with Imagicom. She took us for a couple of years and then she wanted bigger lists and suggested we go with Paul on vlists. We were with Paul for a number of years and then he went to be a programmer for our Lord in Heaven. Rae was suggested by one of his relatives and we have been with Rae ever since.
When we were with Lisa I believe we also ran the 3-4grade and 7-8th gradeconnections, but decided to combine them into the 5-6 which we have now. Our next step was to upgrade the name since we are more than 5-6th grades although those are the biggest numbers on our list so it is now the 4-8grade connection. Our listserv of 4-8connection is free, but we ask $15 a year to help support the website and its information and the access to it.
Our server is located in a datacenter in Sterling, Virginia and managed by a great programmer named Rae who lives in Oregon. Her business is called Aplonis Corporation . You can find Rae's service by logging on to

We kept our domain name Edu-web.net vlists.net from Paul on Fantastic Web sites when he went to the Lord to be His programer. We moved in with Rae and we are very happy and pleased to be with her work!

Our 4-8 Connection has been around since 1998, but began as the 5-6th grade connection. Our people are from all grades, levels, walks of life and parts of the world. Some have retired and stayed with us, others have left.
New people join, some stay and some leave. We know that every one has to be where they are the most comfortable. We share almost everything including some humor and occasionally a recipe or a good idea some one can use.
Our list numbers were around 360 members on up and we still approve everyone on the list and do not allow spamming or advertising. People who have websites can share their websites when it helps members who are looking for information. We welcome prayers requests through the list but do ask that any replies go back to person individually. Since the internet has boomeranged, our member ship has gone down a bit!
